Privacy: what this website collects, and who sees it

This page explains what this website collects, why, who sees it and how long it is kept. The site is run by Wizard Web, and you can reach us at hello@wizardweb.ca.

Who runs this site

This website is run by Wizard Web. Edmonton Emergency Plumber is the name of the website, not a company. Wizard Web may be paid by the local provider it passes requests to.

Wizard Web's privacy officer answers questions about how your information is collected, used, shared or stored, including by service providers outside Canada. Write to hello@wizardweb.ca.

What we collect

  • Website requests. Cloudflare hosts this site and keeps its standard request logs.
  • The spam check on the form. Cloudflare Turnstile, loaded from challenges.cloudflare.com, checks that a person is sending the form. Turnstile may set its own cookies.
  • A visit counter. A small script on each page sends three kinds of event to our own analytics service at app.wizardweb.ca: a page view, a tap on any phone number on the page, including the emergency numbers, and a form being sent. Each event carries the page address, the name of the website that sent you here if there was one, and a random visitor ID that the script stores in your browser's local storage, under the name wzv. It does not set cookies.
  • What you type in the form. Your name, phone number, the problem, your area, any details you add, the page you sent it from, and the time.
  • Phone calls. Calls to 780-652-1462 are answered by an automated assistant. It transcribes the call and writes a short summary so the details can be passed on. The call assistant is set not to record the audio. The assistant may also receive your caller ID. Calls to this number travel through our phone carrier, voip.ms, in Canada.
  • A request log without your name or number. For each request we keep the time, whether it came by call or form, the area, the problem, how long a call lasted, and who it was passed to.

Why we collect it

We use your details to try to pass your request to a local plumber who can contact you about the work. We use the visit counter and the request log to see how the site is used. The spam check keeps automated junk out of the form.

Who sees it

Wizard Web sees everything listed above, and uses AI tools run by service providers in the United States to read and sort the requests it receives. If we find a local plumber for your request, that one pro gets your name, number, area and details so they can contact you.

Service providers process it for us. Cloudflare runs the hosting, the form check, the storage and the email delivery. ElevenLabs runs the call assistant, along with the AI model provider it uses. Our phone carrier, voip.ms, connects calls to the number and keeps its own record of each call, such as the calling number, the time and how long it lasted.

How long we keep it

  • Form requests: kept in storage for 30 days, then deleted automatically.
  • Call transcripts: kept by the voice provider for 30 days.
  • Call summaries: kept in our storage for 30 days.
  • The email copy of a request or call summary: kept as long as needed to arrange the job.
  • The request log: each entry is deleted after 400 days.
  • Visit statistics: kept in our own analytics database with no set deletion date. Each entry holds a random visitor ID, the page, the referring website, the country and the device type, never your name, number or address. To have yours deleted, email hello@wizardweb.ca.
  • Cloudflare's request logs: kept under Cloudflare's own terms.

Processing outside Canada

Call transcripts and summaries are processed and stored in the United States, by ElevenLabs and by the AI model provider its assistant uses. Cloudflare may also process website data, form requests and emails outside Canada. While your information is in another country, it is subject to that country's laws, and courts, law enforcement and national security authorities there may be able to access it.

To get our written practices for service providers outside Canada, or to ask about them, email Wizard Web's privacy officer at hello@wizardweb.ca.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Cloudflare Turnstile, the form check, may set its own.

Your choices and your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@wizardweb.ca and include the phone number you used.

If you'd rather not be transcribed, use the form instead of calling. Calls are answered in English.

Please don't put door codes, alarm codes or payment details in the form or say them on a call. Give those only to the pro you choose.
